Beginning a Short Series of Flip-through Videos

Recently I received a request to do a flip-through video of one of my weekend journals done a number of years ago. The request came at a time when I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to do a series of reel style videos of my journals over the years, posting on a regular basis. I asked people who are on my newsletter list for their input and received quite a number of positive responses. I love receiving feedback and the connections made.

It’s really quite simple. It seems fitting to begin the flip-through series with the journal that inspired over a dozen of short journals, weekend workshops, and online course ‘A Beautiful Word’ .

Beginning at the Beginning of Learning
100 day project update

Some of you are participating in The 100 day project. I am also doing it this year. As a complete beginner with the App Procreate, my goal is to engage with Procreate each day. I am experimenting on a mini iPad, going through some free tutorials to begin with.

It takes humility and a willingness to do something poorly in order to get good at something. I am at the doing it poorly part and am not putting the added pressure on myself to post about my progress until the end of the 100 days.

I have found some good tutorials. If you are looking for Procreate Tutorials, these teachers have videos I’m finding helpful:

Gia Graham: https://www.youtube.com/@IAmGiaGraham

Liz Kohler Brown: https://www.lizkohlerbrown.com/

One thing I am reminding myself in this project is to give myself grace. One day I had two hours to dive into Procreate. The next day I spent about 5-7 minutes just watching part of a tutorial. Even if I miss a day, I am choosing not to criticize myself, but get back to it the next day. This year, that is the only way I can enjoy the process. I am bound to get better at it if I spend time doing it.

Be Blessed!

Valerie
