Living my Whole Life...

It was raining pretty hard Sunday as I walked out of church. A friend with a big umbrella was waiting for his wife and asked if he could walk me to the car. How sweet! I thanked him and asked how he was doing. His answer made me pause. He said, "I am trying to learn what it is like to walk in God's presence every moment of the day." My heart leapt with joy, "Me too!" Then I felt a bit of sadness and longing mixed with the joy, knowing I am not where I want to be in that pursuit.

I thought about what learning to walk in God's presence every moment might mean.Various Psalms came to mind that talk about dwelling in God's presence, in the house of the Lord etc. The apostle Paul talks about being the temple of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 6 and Thessalonians. Also, pray without ceasing. Taking out my Bible Journaling, I went to one of my life chapters, Psalm 27.

"One thing have I asked of the LORD,

that I will seek after:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life."

Psalm 27:4 ESV

If I am the temple or house of the LORD, than His Holy Spirit in me and my surrender to the Holy Spirit is where I can experience God moment by moment each day.

As I read Psalm 26-27 here, I focus on God, His love for me, His glory, above what I can understand.

Lord,

You are my light

and my salvation

You are my stronghold.

I will not fear.

I will walk in Your love.

I will seek to live in You my whole life.
